MY WORK IS A GLIMPSE INTO MY MIND
Urban Dystopia is a ``dark art`` sub project of the internationally active fine art photographer Dennis Gelner based in Munich, Germany. His work navigates the space between sensuality and darkness, intimacy and distance. In his photographs, eroticism and dystopian stillness intertwine, creating a visual language where beauty and unease coexist.
``I am fascinated by the human being — vulnerable, authentic, unmasked & the city, a crowded yet sometimes lonely and empty space filled with stories and fates of the people living there. Every photograph emerges from a moment of deep encounter, born from dedication and emotion. I work with analog medium and large format as well as high-end digital medium format, intuitively choosing the medium that best conveys the truth of each moment.
The stories I tell through my images, the moments they capture, often unfold behind closed doors. Hidden. Behind the city’s windows, which illuminate the darkness yet carry their own shadows within. Each image is a fragment of an encounter — raw, honest, profound.``
